The Old Nazareth Church was
originally a country Methodist Church from 1874 until the mid-20th
century. After the Church ceased to be used by the Methodist
conference, it was moved to Furnace Town. Here it is used for group
presentations, concerts, weddings and other public gatherings. The
original church for Furnace Town was also Methodist and was known as
the Shingled Meeting House because of it shingled walls and roof. It
was the center for religious activity for the community.
